Students applying from Finnish comprehensive schools:
Selection is based on the grade point average of theoretical subjects on your final 9th grade report card. The minimum GPA is 8.00. In addition to applying via OPintopolku, all applicants wiil also send an application directly to the Coordinator.
Students applying from abroad:
Our IB programme is intended for local youth and international families residing in South-Eastern Finland. We are a two-campus school, offering the IB Diploma Programme in Imatra and Lappeenranta. Imatra is the administering school. If your family is establishing itself in our region in the time period between now and August, you can apply through Studyinfo.
Pleasse note that we only consider applications from students who will have a legal guardian living with them in the South Karelia region.
In addition to applying through studyinfo.fi, applicants are to send an application form (found on www.iblukio.fi) and most recent study certificate from their current school to the coordinator.
All foreign applicants who meet the admission criteria (good study performance and legal guardian) will be invited to an onsite entrance exam in Mathematics and English, which takes place on 19 April at Imatran yhteislukio, Koulukatu 2 55100 Imatra. More details will be sent in the invitation email. No online exam option.
